American Freedom Alliance mourns the sudden passing of its founder and president, Avi Davis.
He was a great friend, a truly fine man, and an intellectual powerhouse whose sudden loss we all feel acutely.
Avi and this organization have been a tremendous force for freedom, and the Board of Directors of AFA has been meeting to ensure that this important work continues.  We are committed to the mission, and to honoring Avi.
Recently, Avi had written this:
Happiness comes in life not by wanting but by giving; and then, of course, by expressing gratitude and humility for whatever small portion of good luck we are privileged to enjoy as a result. To BE happy, in the end, is to be grateful - thankful for our extraordinary good fortune to be alive.
If this is the case, and we believe it to be, Avi Davis must truly have been one of the happiest of men, and we are grateful to have known him.
Roger Simon of PJMedia wrote this moving tribute, and this In Memoriam piece was written by Adelle Nazarian from Breitbart.com.

About the Conference:

The massacre of the Charlie Hebdo staff in Paris on January 7th and the hostage crisis and tragic killing of four Jewish shoppers two days later, has sent shock waves around the world.  Those who have been observing the social and demographic crises of Europe for some time were not surprised.  It is the continuation of a long line of disturbances which have rocked Europe over the past 20 years.  The multicultural policies of Europe, wherein Muslim enclaves have been encouraged to develop their own culture which would be respected and encouraged by Europeans have proved to be spectacularly ill conceived.  Today, hundreds, if not thousands of ' No Go Zones' exist all over Europe and the restiveness of local Muslim populations, to the point of explosion, presents the gravest threat to the survival of European civilization since the advent of Nazism.

What do European leaders propose to do about this situation?  Is it too late to do anything?  Without guaranteed protection, should Jews leave France and other European countries? What will Europe look like in 20 years?

These and other questions will be addressed by a range of European experts who are standing in the heart of the problems today.

About the Speakers:

Anne-Elisabeth Moutet is a Paris based columnist for the London Telegraph and the Weekly Standard in Washington. She is a regular commenter on the BBC (radio & television), France 24, BFM-TV, ARTE, Al Jazeera, CBS News and Russia Today. She is a Distinguished Senior Fellow of the Gatestone Institute and sits on the board of Gatestone Europe. She is the Executive Director of the Jean-Jacques Rousseau Institute in Paris.

Alan Craig was first elected to public office in the U.K. in 2002 on behalf of the Christian Peoples Alliance party of which he was leader. Mr. Craig’s profile was raised internationally in connection with his successful campaign of opposition to the ‘Olympics mega-mosque,’ which was to be built close to the 2012 London Olympic site as the international headquarters of a secretive anti-Western Islamic cult. He works closely with a member of the British House of Lords on a Private Member's Bill to tackle gender discrimination in UK Sharia courts. He has visited both northern Nigeria and Pakistan where Islamic persecution of Christian and other minorities has been endemic.

Michel Gurfinkiel is a French writer, journalist, philosopher and scholar. He has been editor-at-large of Valeures Actuelles since 2006 and was editor-in-chief of the same periodical from 1985-2006. Over the past 20 years he has been a special contributor to PJMedia, The Middle East Quarterly, Commentary Magazine, The Weekly Standard and Wall Street Journal.

David Pryce-Jones is the author of books dealing with contemporary events and including ten novels. In 1967 and 1973 he covered the wars in the Middle East for the Daily Telegraph and afterwards wrote The Face of Defeat (1974) about the Palestinians, and the best-selling The Closed Circle (1989) about the Arab world. He has published regularly in Commentary, New Criterion, the Wall Street Journal, and since 1999 has been a Senior Editor of National Review. He lives in London.

Philippe Karsenty is a French journalist and media critic. After a brief foray into French politics in 2002, he founded Media Ratings, the first ever French media rating agency. Media-Ratings has paid particular attention to the failure of the French media to document the rise of militant Islam in France. ( http://www.M-R.fr )
